Rover Metro Rio 1.1C
(Posted on 03/04/2019)
30000 miles and 9 months MOT.
It’s a little crusty around the rear wheel arches and as it stood outside for a few years the window rubbers are a little crazed it just needs a bit of TLC but runs very well the interior is extremely good and I’ve fitted a radio/tape player.
Looking for a good home. Open to offers

New clutch plus gearbox was overhauled by guess-works
I have owned this car for nearly 6 years when I purchased the car it’s engine had been removed to be transplanted into a classic mini . I had a mg metro engine sat in my garage that went straight in this came from a mg metro that had only done 15k from new .I replaced the clutch and had guess-works overhaul the gearbox whilst the engine was out the only thing that they replaced was the syncro on second gear that had some slight wear it starts first time in any weather and has never let me down and never failed a mot in fact every time I’ve taken it in the examiner comments on how good it is and how well it runs.
The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or tears and has never been smoked in .
The body work is rust free and amazingly has never been welded although it has a couple of scratches and small car park dings and one small dent to the top of one wing but had saying that it’s all original and for a 30 year old car it’s very impressive.
Asking £2,200 ovno you will be pushed to find better for such a usable classic.

1992 Rover Metro GTA 16v
British racing green (93,841 miles), Engine size 1.4. It’s had only 2 owners my aunt and myself.
Passed its MOT in April but a week later the brakes locked on the front wheels. It has since been off the road, but I recently had the brake callipers fixed, it has had a test drive and can now be driven away. There is however still an issue of a hissing noise coming from the brake pedal. Perhaps the abs pump?It has a few other problems: the paint is cracked on the roof, and there are some small patches of rust near the wheel arches, see photos. The fuel gauge has not worked for the last couple of years, but not a major problem as you can reset the miles every time you fill it up. The right indicator doesn’t sit so neatly in position as it used toIt had welding done under the rear bumper and a new radiator fitted in February, and oil and filter change prior to its M.O.T
This is a great little classic car, with a zippy engine, and with some love and skill could be restored to its former glory. My engineer dad has looked after it over the years so I do not have a documented service history, but any questions I will try to answer as best I can.
